WARBIRD RADIO – On this episode of the Wings Over New Zealand LIVE Show co-hosts Dave Homewood and Grant McHerron speak with Ed Taylor, the General Manager of the Warbirds Over Wanaka Community Trust. As many will know Warbirds Over Wanaka is one of New Zealand’s and the Southern Hemisphere’s premiere airshows, and the 30th Anniversary Airshow is coming up in three weeks time over Easter. Ed talks about the background and history of the airshow, his role leading the organisation that puts the airshow together, and highlights of what people can expect to see this year, such as the ‘Dunkirk’ Buchon, the USAF F-16 team, the Yak 3’s, Mustangs, Spitfire, and much more.
Dave and Grant also chat afterwards about recent and current happenings on the warbird scene ‘downunder’ in New Zealand and Australia; including Dave’s report from the Tiger Moth Club of New Zealand Rally, the WONZ Forum Meet at Classic Flyers Museum, and a trip this week to Ardmore to visit Pioneer Aero and Avspecs. And Grant gives a preview of several airshows coming up in Australia.

The Texas Warbird Report – Texas Air Museum and the CAF Centex Wing – Episode 23
WARBIRD RADIO – Malcolm Laing from the Caprock Chapter of the Texas Air Museum joins us to discuss warbird happenings on the Llano Estacado. The Museum at Slaton, Texas has a wide variety of static and flying aircraft. Static displays include the F-14 Tomcat and the F9F Panther. Flying aircraft include the AT-6, Reliant MkIII and three of the interesting Mitusbishi KI51 “Sonja” replicas.
Also joining us will be Joe Enzminger from the Central Texas Wing of the Commemorative Air Force. The Centex wing is home the B-25 “Yellow Rose” and she is in need of some support. Engine changes are never an inexpensive undertaking. The Wing is also home to a P-39 Cobra, AT-6 and the San Marcos, Texas hangar will soon be home to the D-Day survivor C-47 ” That’s All Brother”.
