Author Blaine Pardoe - Warbird Radio LIVE! - Wednesday

WEDNESDAY – Lost Eagles author Blaine Pardoe joins us on Warbird Radio LIVE!  Blaine’s new book highlights the life of Frederick Zinn, a man who pioneered the concept of “I will leave no airman behind.”  Zinn served in the French Foreign Legion, the French Air Service, the US Army Air Service and eventually in the OSS during WWII.  He was one of the most celebrated war heroes of the Great War but there is little to commemorate his incredibly humanitarian mission.

After WWI he was able to go out and recover the remains or effects of 195 of the 200 missing US airmen.  In WWII, he set up the system for tracking missing airmen. Even in WWII, in his 50’s, Zinn used a cover provided by the Kellogg Foundation to conduct counterintelligence work and continue to search for missing air crews.  His work brought closure to thousands of families.

Tune in…and call in tomorrow morning at 10am (EASTERN).  Contact info is posted below.  Thanks for listening!
