WarbirdRadio.com Shortlisted for International Innovation Award!

WarbirdRadio.com is honored to receive news that the station has been shortlisted for the inaugural Innovation in Aerospace Journalism and Publishing Award.  The brand new category forms part of the 2018 Aerospace Media Dinner and is sponsored by Rockwell Collins.

The Aerospace Media Awards were created a number of years ago to honor individuals and publishers who have made a significant contribution to aerospace publishing.  With over 250 nominations this year WarbirdRadio.com is humbled to have been shortlisted in this new category, within the main awards.

The dinner and awards ceremony takes place at the prestigious Royal Aeronautical Society in London, England on Sunday July 15 – the eve of the world famous Farnborough International Airshow.

We are delighted that our friend and regular Warbird Radio co-host Stephen Bridgewater will be representing us on the evening. Stephen has also been individually shortlisted in the Best Aviation Image category, which is sponsored by Dassault Aviation.  This is the fourth consecutive year he has been shortlisted for the award, which he won outright in 2016.

WarbirdRadio.com founder and host Matt Jolley said: “We are truly humbled to be recognized on the international stage by the Aerospace Media Awards.  As the world’s first online radio station devoted to military aviation we work tirelessly to tell the stories of airmen, past and present, as well as those enthusiasts who work tirelessly to save examples of vintage military aircraft. To be shortlisted for the Innovation in Aerospace Journalism and Publishing Award is an honor beyond belief.”

WarbirdRadio.com was shortlisted for this award because of it has “embraced modern technology to bring stories from the past to young audiences from today.”  In the last few months guests on the show have included an F-35 test pilot, airshow pilots, veterans, authors and aircraft restorers while the station has been streamed by tens of thousands of listeners across the globe.

In 2015 and 2016 WarbirdRadio.com was honored with two Edward R Murrow Awards by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA). To be shortlisted for an award at the world famous Aerospace Media Dinner truly elevates us onto the international stage.

“We are grateful to Peter Bradfield and the judges at the Aerospace Media Dinner for considering us for this award” continues Mr Jolley, “and wish our fellow nominees the best of luck.”
