WARBIRD RADIO – On this month’s Wings Over New Zealand LIVE Show our guest is Paul McSweeny of Pioneer Aero, one of the famous warbird restoration workshops at Ardmore, in Auckland, New Zealand. With a history of top quality rebuilds of WWII fighters and other aircraft, they have an exciting number of projects in the workshop right now. These include four Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk projects all being restored to fly, plus a Bell P-39 Aircobra, and two Vought Kingfishers. And they are also working on a Japanese B5N2 Kate for the museum at Pearl Harbor, and soon they will also be receiving two Kawasaki Ki-61 Tony projects. Pioneer also perform maintenance for many other airworthy warbird aircraft around Ardmore and New Zealand, and there’s always something interesting there.

WARBIRD RADIO – If there ever was one person you’d want to unfettered access to while building models, then this week’s guest on The Plastic Scale Modeling Hour is one of the first names that comes to my mind is Dana Bell.
Join me as we take a peek into his world! Dana is not only an author, but wears many of hats, most related in some way shape or form to aviation.
Dana has been generous to donate a set of books he wrote and as a bonus, a calendar.
The set consists of a Classic Warship Publishing 2012 Calendar “US Navy Aircraft of WWII”, Aircraft Pictorial #2 “SB2U Vindicator”, Aircraft Pictorial #3 “OS2U Kingfisher” and Aircraft Pictorial #4 “F4F Wildcat.”
To be one of the six possible winners, drop a note to the mailbag before this episode airs. I’ll be announcing the winners throughout the interview with Dana.
