For decades the Breckenridge, Texas air show was the stuff of legend. Brad and Dan routinely attended the air show and fortunately took lots of pictures. Last year Dan and Brad decided they should combine their photography collections and publish a book about the show in Breckenridge.
WWII P-51″Mustang” Pilot Jerry Yellin – Warbird Radio LIVE! – Tuesday 8pm (EASTERN)
WARBIRD RADIO - Noted military aviation author and former WWII P-51 pilot Jerry Yellin shares his story this Tuesday night with Matt Jolley. Mr. Yellin landed on Iwo Jima March 7, 1945, strafed Japanese positions for the US Marines and flew 19 long range (VLR) missions over Japan. He and his wife of 61 years, Helene, have four sons and six grandchildren, three who live in America and three who live in Japan.
First Completed Global Hawk Makes History With 100th Flight
WARBIRD RADIO – The first completed Global Hawk has made history again with its 100th flight in support of NASA environmental research. According to a recent news release, the milestone occurred on a flight from Edwards Air Force Base in California more than 16 years after its first flight in 1998. The aircraft is now at Wallops Island for a two month deployment to conduct hurricane research missions.
