WarbirdRadio.com Honored With Two Edward R. Murrow Awards in 2016
WARBIRD RADIO – The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) has announced the 2016 regional winners of the Edward R. Murrow Awards. Warbird Radio LIVE’s interview with WWII P-38/51 pilot Ralph Maloof won the Murrow Award for Feature Reporting in Region 12 (Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland and Delaware). WarbirdRadio.com was also honored with the Murrow Award for overall excellence encompassing the entire website and body of work.
The Edward R. Murrow Awards recognize the best electronic journalism produced by radio, television and online news organizations around the world.
“We are delighted to honor the great work being done by local newsrooms,” said RTDNA Chair Kathy Walker. “Whether the winning entries come from a large team of journalists in a big city, or from a single, dedicated reporter in a small town, each demonstrates the value of exceptional journalism.”
RTDNA received more than 4,300 entries during the 2016 awards season, setting an all-time record for the fourth year in a row. Warbird Radio is honored to be recognized among the “best of the best” in the nation’s capital.
“We started Warbird Radio.com in 2009 because we believe the stories of our Airmen past and present are important. This history matters, but it sure is nice to know our peers at the Radio Television Digital News Association like what we’re doing and consider us worthy of an Edward R. Murrow award,” says Matt Jolley – host of Warbird Radio LIVE and founder of Warbird Radio.com.
RTDNA is the world’s largest professional organization devoted exclusively to electronic journalism. RTDNA represents local and network journalists in broadcasting, cable and digital media in more than 30 countries.
