357th FG Pilot Lt. Col William Foard RET – Warbird Radio LIVE! – Episode 580
WARBIRD RADIO – Lt. Colonel William Foard flew P-51 Mustangs for the famed 357th Fighter Group in World War II. During the recent Warbirds Over Monroe Air Show Matt Jolley had the opportunity to listen to a few of his stories about flying and life. Lt. Col Foard flew 24 combat missions over various parts of Germany, escorting B-17 and B-24 bombers. He amassed over 113 hours in combat with the P-51. His experiences are note worthy and his advice on life is something we can all learn from.
On this special episode Matt also catches up with several of the Warbirds Over Monroe performers. Flying vintage military aircraft, living history re-enactors and performers who make time to interact with the spectators provides a blend of entertainment and information during the Monroe, North Carolina event.
