Flying The Mig-29 – Warbird Radio LIVE! – Monday
MONDAY – John Sessions from the Historic Flight Foundation joins us with an in-depth look at flying the Mig-29. On January 23, 2011 the second privately owned Mig-29 took to the skies over Washington. The “Fulcrum” is capable of Mach 2.2 and altitudes of nearly 60,000 feet. While it’s a far cry from the other airplanes the Historic Flight Foundation operates it’s certainly worthy of preservation. This particular Mig-29 was built in the Soviet Union sometime between 1985-1991. After the collapse of the Soviet Union it served with the Ukrainian Air Force.
After many years in storage and restoration the Mig-29 is now undergoing flight test at Snohomish County Airport in Everett, Washington. Hear it’s amazing story this Monday at 10am (EASTERN) on Warbird Radio LIVE!
