Go Inside The KC-97 “Stratotanker”

WARBIRD RADIO – The KC-97 Stratotanker began it’s service with the United States Air Force in 1950.  It was based on the Boeing B-29 Superfortress and although highly modified the similarities can still be seen.  The KC-97 continued to serve until 1956 when the Strategic Air Command opted for the new KC-135.  The KC-97 was able to continue it’s service via Air Force Reserve and National Guards units until it was completely retired in 1978.  The subject of this video tour is on display at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, Georgia.
