The greatest honor of my flying career was organizing the B-25 Tribute to the Doolittle Tokyo Raiders. Eighteen B-25’s on the ground in Urbana with 17 flying!. I had the honor of leading the flights in Panchito, as Raider 1. Thank you to all of the other B-25 crews that attended: Raider 2: Pacific Princess, Raider 3: Miss Happ, Raider 4: Barbie III, Raider 5: Axis Nightmare, Raider 6 Wild Cargo, Raider 7:Betty’s Dream, Raider 8: Take Off Time, Raider 9: Lady Luck, Raider 10: Pacific Prowler, Raider 11: Briefing Time, Raider 12: Yankee Warrier, Raider 13: Show Me, Raider 14: Miss Mitchell, Raider 15: Yellow Rose, Raider 16: Devil Dog, Raider 17: Maid in the Shade.

This was made possible by the hard work of the Champaign Aviation Museum, the City of Urbana, the National Aviation Hall of Fame, the special events staff of the National Museum of the United States Air Force, and Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

I, too, drove in to Dayton from Phila. It was well worth the trip. I would like to thank all the B-25 crews for attending. Being a former crewmember of the B-25 “Briefing Time” I know what it took to get these aircraft there. It sure was impressive to see those aircraft lined up. And, to top it all off, being able to meet & greet the Raiders was an honor.
